Rachel Austin is a talented artist and crafter who I'm also privileged to call a friend. I wanted to point out to fellow Portlanders that she is hosting an Open Studio this Saturday at her house. For those of you who live further away, check out Rachel's Etsy shop. I am always drawn to her work because of my obsession with maps and because of the simple, whimsical nature of her pieces.

And while I'm talking about maps, did anyone else see these awesome globes from ImagineNations. I found them through Design*Sponge, and I am smitten!
Since the price tag is a little out of my reach, I suppose I'll have to consider making my own.
