Progress on Summer Goals

I thought I'd check in on my summer goals that I posted over here and see where I'm at on these goals:

-Paint living room trim ---Eh, I just don't feel like doing it! Move it to the fall list. What's a few more months with unpainted trim?!
-Clean and organize office/studio ---I started but it definitely still needs to be completed.
-Deep clean the basement (where the dogs reside, ick!) --Eh, I REALLY don't feel like doing this one! But it HAS to be done.
-Learn to sew from Japanese sewing books --Did it! And it was fun!
-Learn to sew knit children's clothes --I've made a few things that I should blog about.
-A secret art project that I've been mulling around for a while-- I haven't gotten to it :( There was that unplanned for on-line graduate class that sucked up my "free" time this summer.
-Continue purging/organizing my wardrobe, including the search for a Uniform Dress --In progress
-Find and perfect a great black bean burger recipe ---I found one decent one but it is not perfect yet
-Eat more fruits and veg (green smoothies, baby!) ---We've done well with this although the Sprout is still not convinced that green things should be eaten.
-Lose 15 pounds (There, I said it. Now I have to do it) ---I've lost about 7 but it hasn't been easy! I started running again and the Sprout has spent a lot of time in the jogging stroller.
-Exercise 45 minutes at least 4 days per week ---On track with this one! Yee-haw!!
-Sign up to run a 5k ---I'm planning to run the Race for the Cure in September.
-Get back into biking and sign up for some longer group rides (50 miles or more) ---Portland Century is this weekend and Nate and I are riding the 50 mile ride.
-Create play space for Silvie on our property--swing, sand box or table, and a teepee are what I have in mind ---Oh, I still want to do this!
-Build our community by having friends over and getting more involved in church community ---We've definitely spent good time with friends this summer and we made it to church most Sundays but I'd still like to get involved in some more ways but it is complicated by life with a toddler.

Some of you are probably thinking, "Geez, Deb! Summer is over already! You're way behind on your goals." But, no, I refuse to think this way. I know most of the country is already in back-to-school mode, but here in Oregon school does not start until after Labor Day so we have about 2 1/2 more weeks. And really, if you think about it, summer officially goes until September 21 or thereabouts so we're only about half way through the season. That's what I keep trying to remind myself as I get that slightly-panicky summer-is-almost-over feeling.

Enjoy these last summer weeks!

I think you have done a great job! I am especially impressed by the seven pound loss, the exercise and the long bike ride. Everything else can wait. Fantastic.
